"SallyBumBum" aka "Bombay"

One of the best fun events in Bermuda is to sail&party. That is why our friends from BIOS decided to organize one of this type of entertainments. It is called "Sally Bum Bum" which is a catamaran driving people around the sound in Hamilton. Music, dancing, swimming and cold drinks. Great fun and wonderful "farewell" party for us.

Cinco di Mayo

The 5th of May is a Mexican holiday common celebrated in the USA. So regarding to the fact that we have a lot of american friends here we decided to celebrate this holiday as well. We made a party in our cottage with beef and chicken tacos and margaritas. A lot of people showed up which was very nice. That was a great party reminding me of home - Gdynia.

salt & lemon did that

This happens to you when you drink margaritas! Kids don't try this at home!!

Presentation for trustees

Today morning we had to give our presentations about our POGO research projects to the BIOS board of trustees and staff members. Presentations were short, only 8 minutes and not very scientific considering that a lot of trustees are not-scientists. Everything started at 9 o'clock. All the presentations were very good and in the end people gave us "standing applause" which gave us a lot of satisfaction.

Christmas 2011

This year's Christmas I spent in different style. Philippine crew from the Atlantic Explorer organize Christmas dinner at the dock next to the ship. They made every effort to ensure that everything was nice and festive. They roasted a pig on the spit and prepared a lot of delicious food like turkey, shrimps or spring roles. We also prepared some food for this occasion. Each one of us made some special meal from our country. So there was Russian vegetable salad, Indian rice and milk, Brazilian 'pudding', Japanese sushi, Chinese dumplings and Polish pierogi off course. Chunli put a coin inside one of the dumplings for a good luck in coming year to the person who finds it. The lucky one turned to be Pri - congrats!!
Everything was great except of the weather. But it didn't stop us from having good time. We were eating all the delicious dishes and listening to the american carols. After dinner the crew set up a karaoke and most of us tried their hand in singing with bad and... worse effect :-) and after midnight the party started.

My Birthday

This year, as my friend pointed out, I had the longest lasting birthday of my life (so far) because it started in Poland just after midnight so it was 7:00pm in Bermuda and ended here at midnight, so it was 29hours.
I must say it was very happy 29hrs EVER!!! I had really great time and I spent it with my new friends who surprised me with many birthday gifts. And off course there was a cake. The most delicious chocolate-muss cake ever, made by Pri. There was mold wine and gingerbread cookies made by me and Argentinian picada (crackers, cheese & ham). Everything was perfect that day: the food, the people, the weather and it made my day.
